Why you need to get out of your fundraising comfort zone
I’ll let you in on a little secret – I’m doing something that really scares me, right now.
And that is being on video.
I can't lie - being on video is really far outside of my comfort zone, and it's something I've avoided (or dreaded!) for many years.
But I realized that this fear was holding me back from achieving something that’s really important to me – connecting with more people like you, to share the strategies you need to raise more money for your amazing cause.
Getting out of your comfort zone is so important when it comes to growth – both your own personal growth, and the growth of your revenue.
If you don’t take that leap and embrace doing what matters most, even if that scares the heck out of you, chances are your fundraising will stagnate, and you won’t see the results you want this year.
So, I want to challenge you to think of one of your greatest fears as it relates to fundraising – it could be booking your first face to face meeting with your biggest donor, or picking up the phone regularly to call and thank your new supporters.
Whatever it is, leave me a comment below, and make a commitment - tell us how you’re planning on getting out of your fundraising comfort zone this year.
Hey, I did it! My first official video - and it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be.
Remember, you won’t get fundraising growth without discomfort! Good luck with it, and I’ll see you next time.
