It wasn’t shaping up to be the most festive of birthdays - until I got an unexpected delivery from a young friend.

Now, I always appreciate a homemade birthday card - but the fact that this message arrived when I felt like there wasn’t much to celebrate made it even more special.


I wanted to share this because a) it’s awesome! and b) there’s an important lesson here for us when it comes to communicating with our donors.  


While it may feel counterintuitive, now is the time to surprise and delight your donors like never before.
