BOOK A CALL

Some days it feels like a struggle

Sometimes you have to stop thinking about the big goal, and just take it 90 seconds at a time…

I’m training for a 10k, and my run thoroughly kicked my butt this morning (I’m only smiling because it’s over 👇).

I’m using an app called Runkeeper, and having a coach in my ear helps keep my motivation up - especially important when I’d love nothing more than to go home, crawl under the covers and go back to sleep!

Today we did interval training, and she had some wise advice - don’t think about the whole distance, just focus on the next 90 seconds.

While I find big picture strategy and planning exciting and energizing, some days trying to think big can just lead to frustration and overwhelm.

When things feel like a struggle (and it happens to all of us!), taking it one moment at a time can be your smartest move.

One of the most valuable skills I’ve learned over the years is recognizing when it’s good to keep moving forward (even when you don’t feel like it!) - and when it’s better to take a step back and rest.

Today, it felt right and wise to keep moving forward - and taking it just 90 seconds at a time!

BTW - I want you to know that I am NOT a natural born runner. Until last year, the only time you’d catch me running is if I was being chased (to use a tired old line!).

If you’re looking for more inspiration, I share the 3 important fundraising lessons I’ve learned from my running journey (one of my most read articles!). You can check it out here. >>>
